Best LOOKS of the WEEK!

While a black sheath gets one glamorously through any cocktail party, to truly stand out requires a little color. Adding rich, ripe hues like violet, green, and fuchsia to their looks, the women on our list this week elevate the idea of evening. After all, what is the point of getting all dressed up only to fade into the crowd?

Ohhh LALA That Little Black Dress is Saying something to me!

One of the fundamentals rules of fashion is that girl must have AT LEAST one if not more black dresses in her closest! Dress it up or play it down but make it work! Since its so simple, a little black dress can be so much more than just an article of clothing. Many make the mistake of viewing it as just that A little Black Dress...but who says that little black dress cant steal the show?! Here are great tips on making a statement in that off the racks little black dress ladies!
  • Decide whether its going to be a "fun" little black dress or a more 'sophisticated' black dress.
  • Concentrating on the footware is just as important. What designer heel will take this little black dress to the next level?.....
  • Make sure it hugs your body appropraiately. (You dont want to get side views because that little black dress is NOT the right little black dress)
  • Layer it! Whether it be a fun blazer or knee high ankle boots with sheer stockings, incorporate your own funky style into the dress.
  • Play with your make-up. Let your eyes also speak volumes. Bring the dress alive with a fresh face! Try a makeup tip that you wouldnt normally go with. For example, cateyes, or colored lips with smokey eyes. This is your chance to try a new cool since your dress is more casual :)

" Pop...Lock and COLOR BLOCK IT" .....ARE YOU FALL READY?!

Yep! Its that time ladies. Bring out those Express sweaters and killer Micheal Kors knee high boots and get ready to be dipped in fall madness. My favorite spring looks this year revolved around bright bold solid colors, vintage earrings and wooden clog heels. The mixture of colors against my skin, in my opinion, is a match made in heaven. Well, how can i incorporate this spring favorites into my fall ensembles? You dont have to rid your spring collections just to make room for fall. Here are my style tips on working the old in with the new; in a fabulous, eyepopping way.

  • Play with colors, who says falls fashion are stricted to  black, gray, and army green.
  • This is the time to invest in that neon colored blazer you've been eyeing at Saks.
  • An all around item that can compliment any apparel is the goal! Scarfs, watches, bold Betsey Johnson accessories
  • Try a mixture of a solid print bottom with a playful print on top. My sources have revealed to me that this year it all about color....in other words "POP...LOCK AND COLOR BLOCK IT!!!!"

Im kind of .....in loveeeee with that accessory!

Not sure how to make that outfit POP. Well i have a solution for that...ACCESSORIZE IT! Simple as that. But it doesnt have to stop there ladies. Bold refined braclets this fall is one of the keys in bringing a dull fit to its full capabilities. So, next time you're in the Galleria, dont overlook those cool jewelery by the check out line in Aldo, pick up a few. Last week i focused only on accessories, including bracklets, earrings, and this the rig that i am wearing while blogging (which is officially my favorite buy of the year) Remember, just because you are going to be covered for the fall doesnt mean you cant make bold statements with your accessories. They could be the answer to all your wordrobe problems :)

Some of my favorite places to shop for accessories are:
  • Urban outfitters,
  • betsey Johnson
  • Nordstorms rack
  • Aldo
  • Vintages stores

Looks of the week...

The Essentials....
Whether  paired with shorts or True Religion jeans, a vintage blazer dressed up or low-key will never go out of style. These looks can be achieved with simple articles that may already be in YOUR closest.
A solid print or fabric can be shifted in so many ways. Invest in a form fitting thigh to knee dress(that way it can be casual or formal at any given moment. Who knows, happy hour at Pappadeux after work could snowball to a dance filled, social nightlife in a split second.I dont know about you guys but me and my girls keep the party going wherever we go :)
.. "vous qui y va ?..."
These require NO explanation. Next.....
I LOVE this look. Not only is it fun, it makes me want to create the same look but with MY own twist.
With an oversize, multi-pattern jacket, matched with appropriate cropped shorts, a black and white turban, a wool like necklace with brown embellishment, and  (either black leather, or suede) heels w/wedge, Solange owns this african inspired creation.
THE SAME
..... can be said about my Favorite 'girlfriend' Tracie Ellis Ross. Flipped upside down, Ross follows the beautiful idea of an african inspired print with a black and white top apparel. Paired with a basic stripped 3/4 quaters top, the Multi-color shorts is another way to play with bold patters.... Have Fun!

My 'Must' Haves in My Vintage!!!!!!!
(Look your best on the Go.)
  •  Lip Moisturizer (can be used also as a basic coat for lipstick) Keep your lips pretty and plump, who knows your crush could randomly be in the area
  • Carry a little Extra cash: Dont miss out on that half off everyday bracklet the vendors has on his cart. Which by the way is calling you name
  • Concealor: This nifty little thing can be used multiple ways ladies. For Lips, use as a base and then apply clear gloss for that natural lip color. Dark spots, so you dont have to be decked out, but your face can be evenly toned without all the fuss of foundation. Under your eyes, Brighten up your eyes in 10secs. Dont wear last night on your face.
  •  Roll on Perfume: I perfer roll on versus spray or my favorite in house perfume. Roll on are great for on the Go women. As the day goes on, the perfume begins to settle in your skin, which makes it to last longer. Create your very own signature scent for people to notice.
  • A little accesory here and there never hurt anyone: Keep a pair of earrings, a BOMB ass ring, and or your favorite mens watch on you. Wah-Lah! Look your best even on your off day.

....Just another Love Story...

Thoughts. Just thoughts.

2. To get the dressing on the salad, not on the side.
3. To come up with a load of laundry so your lucky underwear will be clean for tomorrow.
4. To be the tiniest bit scared of revolving doors.

6. To have an off day! IT HAPPENS TO THE BEST OF US.
7. To be low key with your fashion at times. MORE IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER LADIES! ......Simplicity at its best!
